FREEDOM TO GROW
We can be bound
even if we end up torn,
by the spikes around
those that we love.
No teacher, no patron
in existence or lore
can ever deny
the guidance from above.
Being able to choose
how much we will grow,
not wanting to lose
the freedom we hold.
The worst circumstances
might not be our fault;
then all that matters
is how they’re restored.
No one ruins our lives—
we act to ruin our own.
Embracing the experience,
perhaps we can learn.
