HAPPINESS
There is nothing
of such brief measure
as happiness itself.
In the blink of an eye,
its beauty fades away,
like nothing on sight.
It appears unexpectedly,
surrounded by laughter,
only wishing to prevail.
Its longing to remain
means no harm
when it comes to an end.

- Comentario del autor sobre el poema: HAPPINESS is a reflective poem about the fragile and fleeting nature of joy. Through soft imagery and thoughtful rhythm, the poem captures how happiness arrives unexpectedly—wrapped in laughter and light—yet disappears almost as quickly as it comes, fading like something barely seen. Elise Beher gently reminds readers that happiness is not meant to be permanent, but to be embraced, appreciated, and remembered. A meditation on impermanence, gratitude, and emotional awareness.
